disguise Launches RenderStream for xR UE5 Plugin
Following the recent launch of Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5, disguise has released a new plugin to offer its users immediate benefits from the game engine’s next-generation photorealistic visual capabilities. The free open-sourced proprietary RenderStream plugin integrates easily with the game engine allowing for real-time content changes directly from disguise’s software interface Designer.
The new plugin enables users to unlock new features in Unreal Engine 5 such as the Nanite virtualized micropolygon geometry system and a new Virtual Shadow Map system. Virtual scenes can be created in extended reality (xR) with large amounts of geometric detail.
To benefit from the latest features in Unreal Engine 5 within their disguise productions, users will need to have access to the latest disguise software release, r21. Released just a week before UE5, r21 brought improvements to the disguise software UI and overall system performance, as well as new tools for color workflows. Developed with the help of disguise’s Live and Color Insider groups and software beta testers, r21 addresses common user challenges and requirements across both live and virtual production environments, also unlocking streamlined user experience.
